HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. - One of the men who escaped on Sunday from the Hancock County Jail remains at large.
Authorities are searching for 28-year-old Perry Thomas. Thomas and 21-year-old Montrell McPherson scaled the fence around the recreation yard Sunday afternoon.
Three women were also arrested for helping the suspects.
Authorities say Rhakeea Lyons was waiting to pick them up in a vehicle. Investigators say the Lyons picked up Thomas, but McPherson did not make it across the road to the car. Officers found McPherson on the side of the road near the jail injured.
Lyons was arrested near the Mississippi-Louisiana state line and Thomas was not in the car.
Officials have also arrested Shondreka Lee and Shemeki Ray in connection with the escape. All three women are charged with aiding and abetting a fugitive.
