Repairs Begin at 'Gator Alley

Posted: Updated:

Work has begun to repair storm damage to 'Gator Alley in Daphne. The popular tourist spot just off Interstate 10 was broken apart by raging waters during the flooding in late April.

The city of Daphne had to find a contractor to make the repairs and the money to pay for it. We found two small barges in place tonight to begin rebuilding the sections of the walkways that were destroyed by the record rainfall.

This popular spot to see wild alligators is visited by tens of thousands of people each year. However, it should not be confused with Alligator Alley, which is located in Summerdale and is a private business.
