SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, July 23, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The digital marketing industry is said to be worth $62 billion with the offline marketing industry being worth over $30 billion more than this. The study was published by the Direct Marketing Association, an industry group, and was conducted by John Deighton and Peter Johnson, a Harvard Business School professor and a Columbia University adjunct professor. It counted some 650 companies working in the personal data business.

The study examined both online and offline direct marketing and revealed that traditional offline marketing, provided by direct mail companies was a $93.6 billion dollar industry in 2012.

GEM PTY is thrilled and un-surprised by the incredible achievements of direct marketing. However, they say that many businesses can utilize both online and offline marketing as a way to cross-channel and better their marketing communications.

Cross-channel campaigns are those that are integrated across multiple channels versus those that are run simultaneously in various channels. Integrating campaigns can be significantly more difficult than running them individually but GEM PTY believe that brands should understand how imperative these campaigns are.

Cross-channel marketing allows for marketers to take up position in every possible channel and intelligently engage with customers on all of these platforms. It also allows for a more personalized approach to conversing with consumers which makes them more likely to respond positively. It allows for a conversation to be picked up and continued across an array of channels. The consumer can be met at every step of the way and greeted with messages and offers that are uniquely tailored to their personal relationship with that brand. It is of extreme convenience to consumers to be able to communicate in this way and this can make them more likely to become loyal customers, regularly investing in the product or service that they are being offered.

GEM PTY is confident that brands that can utilize both types of marketing will drastically improve their customer acquisition and retention rates. The firm believes that both offline and online marketing industries have positive attributes that can contribute to a successful marketing campaign.

GEM PTY are an outsourced sales and marketing industry that specialize in direct marketing and are especially pleased with how well the direct marketing industry is doing.
