Liquid Found In Purse Claimed As Urine Tests Positive For Meth

SPARTANBURG, S.C -

Deputies in Spartanburg say they have charged a woman with possession of meth after they say she had a prescription bottle with a liquid substance inside that tested positive for meth on July 23rd.

Cindy Lee Wingo was arrested for possession of meth, second offense, after deputies say they found her at a property that was for sale with another individual. After a K-9 unit detected that there was an illegal substance in the vehicle she was riding in, a deputy asked if he could search her purse.

The deputy claimed to know Wingo from prior cases, and after she allowed for the search to happen, the deputy says he found something strange.

A report shows that the deputy found a prescription bottle that was in a name other than Wingo’s, and contained some type of a liquid, which Wingo claimed to be her urine.

The deputy on scene says that meth can be found in the urine of meth users; he goes on to say that meth can be extracted from urine. The deputy performed a field test of the substance, which came back positive for meth. Wingo was then arrested.

Deputies say that they are going to test the substance back in the lab to confirm that the substance did have traces of meth.
