Reggie Bullock comes home, holds basketball camp

Posted: Updated:

Outside of maybe Jerry Stackhouse and Cedric Maxwell there's never been a better basketball talent to come through Kinston. Reggie Bullock took the Vikings to three state championships, winning two. As if that wasn't enough for the city he returned today to give even more.

Bullock was joined by a number of area coaches at the Woodmen Community Center for his camp. Around 80 kids worked on their game with and even against the NBA star.

He signed autographs and took plenty of pictures and for the former Viking and North Carolina Tar Heel this day was about much more than basketball...

"One day I was in their shoes," said Bullock. "At 11 years old I told myself that I wanted to be an NBA basketball player so I just dedicated all my time towards that. Had to do things in school to even make it to Carolina and from Carolina I obviously made my dream come true but its not the end. I still have a lot of work to do and a lot of things to prove. I just felt like it was good to just come back to my community and be around the young kids that actually look up to me for my home city."
