Purple Heart recipient, ECU student win Tryon Palace wedding

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - A Purple Heart recipient from Camp Lejeune and his soon-to-be wife won a wedding at the Tryon Palace.

Operation Marry Me Military and Open Aperture Photography announced Cpl. Waggter Paul Jr. and Jonai Lloyd as the winners of the 2014 Operation Marry Me Military Craven County Wedding.

Cpl. Paul is a Purple Heart Recipient who's stationed at Camp Lejeune, and is currently deployed in the Middle East. His fiancée, Jonai Lloyd, is from Wilmington and is a current student at East Carolina University.

Cpl. Paul and Lloyd have been engaged since October 2013, but have been seriously discussing marriage since 2012. The couple says Deployments and financial hardships have gotten in the way until now.

The couple won a wedding of worth up to $22,000. The wedding will be held at Tryon Palace for the third year in a row on Veteran's Day, November 11.
