Greenville officials want public input on alcohol policy in parks

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - Allowing alcohol in parks, the policy is currently under consideration in Greenville.

And Monday night, a forum is being held to gauge your opinion.

With the exception of the Bradford Creek golf course, alcohol is prohibited at parks.
But a potential policy change, brought up at the City Council's August meeting, would allow people to sell and drink alcohol in designated locations. And only for specific events.

“It's absolutely far from a blanket,” said Gary Fenton, Parks & Rec Director. “We're only really talking about a portion of the Town Commons and then again some indoor facilities and sometimes it's just a portion of an indoor facility.”

The forum starts at 6 o'clock.
