Here's a quick look at your top five headlines for Tuesday, August 26, 2014.

1. The NTSB is expected to release the cause of the 2013 UPS plane crash on September 9. Meanwhile, the organization has kicked UPS and its pilots' union out of the investigation. The NTSB says both groups violated their party status by making public statements about the cause of the accident before the investigation is finished.

2. Eric Petty has been charged with murder in a fatal shooting in Tuscaloosa Saturday night. Authorities say Petty shot and killed Marcellus Brown inside the Easy Money store on McFarland Boulevard. A grand jury will now decide if more charges will be filed.

3. The Environmental Protection Agency is working to clean up a former industrial site in Shelby County. The plans were revealed during a public meeting last night in Vincent. The public will be allowed to comment for 30 days before any action is taken. The plant is located at the intersection of Highways 231 and 60.

4. A temporary central station is now open in downtown Birmingham. The station is located on 16th Street and Morris Avenue. Birmingham's new permanent intermodal transportation center is scheduled to open in December 2015.

5. There were many repeat winners during the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards last night. Breaking Bad won Best Drama for the second year in a row. Modern Family was honored for Best Comedy and Bryan Cranston was awarded Best Actor in a Drama.
