COLUMBUS, Ga. -

FIRST ON WRBL.com: A murder warrant has been issued for Brandon Conner, who is suspected to have killed a Columbus mother and baby found after a house fire last week, according to Columbus police.

Remains believed to be that of Rosella Mitchell and her 6-month-old son Dylan Conner were found after a house fire at 1324 Winifred Lane last Thursday. Mitchell, whose death was ruled a homicide, is believed to have had life threatening stab wounds before the fire, WRBL News 3 has learned.

Conner, 35 is described as being five feet ten inches tall weighing about 180 pounds. He was pulled over for a traffic violation on Wynnton Road around the time of the fire but was able to pay bond out of jail before investigators were able to link him to the fire. Attorney Mark Shelnutt, who says he is representing Conner, called WRBL News 3 late Tuesday afternoon to say his client was already in talks with police to turn himself in. Shelnutt says his client is incident, not dangerous and is cooperating with police.

An autopsy is being performed in Atlanta to help positively identify the remains of the victims using dental records.

Anyone with information about the location of Conner is asked to contact 911 or Columbus Police Department Investigative Services at 706-653-3400
