ICAP Patent Brokerage announces for sale patents disclosing an improved CAPTCHA (or Reverse Turing Test) system, which makes automated bot interpretation of an image more difficult while remaining simple for a human to solve. This IP package is available from inventor Michael J. VanDeMar, as part of the Live Financial Auction Series, with a bidding deadline of October 23, 2014.

This technology solves the problem of CAPTCHAs becoming too complex for a human to read. Any company wishing to ensure only humans gain entry to their systems, such as financial institutions, will benefit from this portfolio, says Doug Rhoten, Chairman of ICAP Patent Brokerage.

Key Characteristics & Benefits
Weve all encountered difficulty in interpreting CAPTCHAs those warped images of text we must decipher in order to gain access to our bank accounts or favorite news magazine, or sign up for a new online service. This is because in an effort to make them harder for machines to crack, they become more difficult for humans to read, often becoming distorted to the point of being unsolvable.

This portfolio provides a solution, by disclosing a method that increases the difficulty for a machine to pass a reverse Turing test without increasing the difficulty for a human being. The method comprises dividing an image into multiple sub-images. The sub-images are presented to the user simultaneously. The user then reassembles the images, as one would assemble a simple jigsaw puzzle. The user can then input data within the image for verification. The additional step of re-assembling the image prior to verification adds a level of sophistication difficult for modern bots to overcome.

Forward citing companies include Visa Europe Limited.
