Aaron is happy to call the ENC his new home!

Aaron joined 9 On Your Side in April of 2019. But he’s not new to TV News, he comes from our sister station WFXR in Roanoke Virginia (his hometown) where he wore many hats for two years like production assistant, photojournalist and he even had his own “What’s Trending?” segment on WFXR’s lifestyle show called “Living Local in Virginia”.

He’s also worked in radio as a Promotions Assitant for Mel Wheeler Inc. and as a Production Assitant for local Roanoke talk show “The Hour of Joy”

Aaron earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Va. GO RAMS. While at VCU Aaron became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity inc.

Aaron is an advocate for community engagement and positive youth development. In his hometown of Roanoke, he served on The Roanoke City Youth Services Citizens Board, The Roanoke Area Youth Substance Abuse Coalition, and The Roanoke Branch of the NAACP for many years.

In his spare time, Aaron loves to cook, hang out with friends, and of course listen to the Queen Bee herself Beyonce.

Aaron says he lives by one quote from Henry David Thoreau: “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined.” Aaron hopes to teach people that the hands in life they are dealt won’t affect if they can or will win the race!

Aaron’s biggest role models in life are his mother Myra, Oprah, and Beyonce!

He can’t wait to dig deeper into what makes Eastern North Carolina so great!
