Alayna Verduyn joined the WNCT team in June 2022 as a morning anchor/ producer. She is excited to call Greenville her new home.
Originally from central Iowa, Alayna graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2022 with a major in broadcasting and a minor in theatre arts. During her time at UNL, she received awards from the Nebraska Broadcasters Association and the Society of Professional Journalists.
Alayna worked on the morning team as a trending anchor at KLKN in Lincoln, Nebraska, before heading to Eastern North Carolina. She also worked as an intern at KLKN and WOI in Des Moines, Iowa.
Alayna has wanted to work in news since she was young and even produced newscasts with her stuffed animals. In her free time, Alayna likes to be outside, listen to music and pet any dog that crosses her path! She can’t wait to get to know Eastern NC and explore the area.
