Holly Baker

Holly Baker is very excited to join Eastern North Carolina and live her dream of being a meteorologist. She joined the WNCT team in August 2022 as a weekend morning meteorologist.

Holly was inspired by her grandparents in her early childhood. They would tell her to look out the window every Sunday morning to tell them what the weather looked like so they would know how to dress up for church. As she grew older and learned more science, she became more and more intrigued with the weather. She continued to keep her grandparents up to date with local weather daily.

Holly received a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology with a minor in Mathematics in 2022 from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. During her college career, she interned in her hometown at WTVY in Dothan, Ala., and later became a freelance meteorologist for WTVY.

She was heavily involved in many extracurricular activities throughout her college career. To name a few, Holly was a cheerleader for the University of South Alabama Jaguars and a part of the student government association. Holly was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. in the fall of 2018. She is still an active member and has plans to stay committed to serving the community for a lifetime.

In her free time, Holly enjoys cooking gourmet meals and comfort foods. She also enjoys reading in her free time, taking professional photos, swimming, shopping, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
