
Jerry Jackson joined the WNCT 9 On Your Side news team in August of 2014. He is currently the chief meteorologist for WNCT 9 Storm Team Weather. His anchoring duties include WNCT 9 On Your Side from 5-6:30 p.m. at 10 p.m. on The CW, and 11 p.m.
A native of the agricultural community of Mount Olive, Jerry worked for 16 years as a broadcast meteorologist in the Wilmington (NC) television market. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from North Carolina State University, in addition to the Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
While in Wilmington, Jerry kept viewers informed through some of the largest severe weather events in North Carolina history, including Hurricane Floyd and the Carolina Tornado Outbreak of 2011. He has been honored 9 times by the Associated Press and RTNDA for broadcast excellence.
In August of 2014, Jerry (along with his wife and son) decided to move closer to family in Eastern North Carolina. He is excited to join the WNCT weather team.
