Down Eats: Daddy Mac’s Beach Grille

Down Eats

There’s something to be said when the food and the view compliment each other perfectly. At Daddy Macs Beach Grille, the water view and the incredible food pair up for a winning combination.

“I like that you get a nice lunch with a side of beach,” said Arlene Edwards, a regular at Daddy Macs.

The menu offers something for everyone — from standard sandwiches, to juicy burgers.

“Some of the best burgers on the island,” said Rick Roberson. “I don’t know of anywhere else on the island that offers stuffed burgers.”

But being on the beach, you know they’ve got to be doing something with the seafood.

Chef Allan Chase is kicking the shrimp and grits up a notch.

“We use our parmesan cream Alfredo instead of regular heavy cream,” he said.

“Grits are creamy. You can taste the saltiness from the parmesan, and that Alfredo sauce, that’s the real difference maker here,” said WNCT’s Josh Birch.

From the shrimp and grits, to the fish tacos, complete with a homemade cider vinegar cabbage and a Chipotle lime salsa. It’s topped off with homemade Baja cream.
