GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT)- The Pitt County Animal Shelter is working on their first phase of expansion with new kennels.
The Pitt County Animal Shelter is on schedule with the construction for the new expansion.
The first phase of construction will house puppy cages, a new adoption dog area, and indoor get acquainted rooms.
Overall, the new construction and renovations will help them have a facility up to code.
It will better provide separate intake and outcome flow.
The expansion will provide cats a better quality of life by having a separate wing from the dogs.
They hope at one point to fundraise enough money eventually to add on a catio, which will be an area for cats to get out of their cages and play.
