GREENVILLE, N.C (WNCT) — The weekend is almost here, and there is a lot to do in Eastern North Carolina.
“What’s Happenin'” takes a look at some of the activities and events going on in the area. Are you bored and looking for something to do in this new year? Here is a list of some activities that are happening this week to keep you entertained, learn some things, and much more.

This Weekend
Greenville
Radio station V 103.3 is hosting a block party playing everyone’s favorite 90s and early 2000s music. There would be many fun things for the kids including bouncy houses and face painting. There will be giveaways and prizes.
Learn how to use and make your own pottery with the Emerge Art Gallery Center on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Emerge Art Gallery Center. All supplies will be included.
At the Town Common, local artists can get together to paint and enjoy the natural scenery that is the Tar River. This event will take place on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
Jacksonville
Amateur Showcase & Talent Hunt
This event will be showcasing all the local musicians in the ENC area that are not signed to a record label or studio. This event will take place this Saturday at the Sturgeon City Environmental Education Center.

Ayden
Kings of Q BBQ Cook-off Festival
The cookoff festival is a weekend event that will take place on Friday and Saturday at 462 Second Street. On Friday the fun begins at 5 p.m. and on Saturday at 9 a.m.
