ALABAMA (WNCT) — An alligator was spotted riding the waves at a beach on Dauphin Island in Alabama recently.

According to the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, alligators can tolerate a variety of salinity levels and will sometimes swim in the Gulf of Mexico.
