A Humboldt penguin hatched at the Oregon Zoo recently. The zoo said the chick is “healthy and active” and is being taken care of by foster parents Blue and Esquela because its biological parents are “less skilled at raising chicks.” The young penguin is the first Humboldt chick to hatch at the zoo since 2020, the zoo added.
