2 arrested after stealing multiple power tools in the Grimesland area

Two people have been arrested after an investigation into reports of breaking and entering in the Grimesland area on February 6.

On February 6, a homeowner in the Grimesland area of Pitt County reported the breaking and entering of a storage building with the larceny of multiple power tools.

During an investigation, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office said that multiple stolen items were found at several Pitt and Beaufort counties pawn shop locations.  

Jackie R. King, 27, and Sandy M. Moya, 31, both of Grimesland, were identified as suspects and taken into custody.

King was arrested on February 24 and charged with:

  • One count of felony breaking and entering
  • One count of felony larceny after breaking and entering
  • One count of felony obtaining property by false pretenses
  • One count of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods

He was given a $22,000 bond and has since bonded out, deputies said.

Moya was arrested on April 17 and charged with:

  • One count of felony breaking and entering 
  • One count of felony larceny after breaking and entering 
  • Three counts of felony obtaining property by false pretenses
  • Two counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods
  • One count of misdemeanor child support violation

She was given an $18,750 bond and remains in the Pitt County Detention Center.
