Around 50 people in Duplin County are waiting to return to their homes Wednesday night after a rail car started leaking liquefied petroleum gas this evening in Rose Hill.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of the spill around 3:45 p.m. They called in a HAZMAT crew from Wilmington to help with the cleanup.
As of 9 p.m. Wednesday night, crews were still on the scene of the spill.
The rail car was operated by CSX.
