Belk reopens in Jacksonville

After closing their doors for the last 7 months due to storm damages, Belk is officially reopening at the Jacksonville Mall.

Hurricane Florence devastated at least 1/3 of the store leaving a significant amount of water damage.

Employers showed associates their appreciation for sticking by the company as the store worked on recovery efforts, by hosting a luncheon and rewarding each associated with $300 worth of gift cards for groceries, gas, and Belk.

Terri Peal, who has been an associate for Belk for the 25 years, said the reopening is like a big family reunion.

“And everybody’s just so happy to be back to work here because we had to travel to different stores and we were all separated. We are back with our family together again,” Peal.

The reopening celebration will be kicked off at 10 tomorrow morning with a with a ribbon cutting and gift cards for the first 100 customers.
