Both runways at Pitt-Greenville Airport have been shut down for pavement repairs.

American Airlines is aware of the closure, and there will be no outgoing or incoming flights to the airport through Sunday.

No travelers were able to schedule flights at the airport during the five-day period.

The airport usually has a total of eight flights a day, servicing up to 400 passengers each day.

Some of those travelers are flying out of Coastal Carolina and other nearby airports while these repairs are being made.

The main runway was shut down at the end of April for the $10 million dollar repair project and planes were using the second runway to get in and out.

They shut that second runway down Wednesday. It will reopen Monday at 6:30 a.m., while the main one remains closed until May 18.
