Military officials will host a meeting at a college in Havelock on April 23 to help people with mental and physical disabilities find a job.
The Fleet Readiness Center East’s Individuals with Disabilities Advisory Team will host the Individuals With Disabilities Employment Information Session on Tuesday, April 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Craven Community College Havelock Campus, located on 305 Cunningham Blvd.
The session is designed to give people with disabilities information and insight into the unique federal hiring processes, employment opportunities and community and education resources in Eastern North Carolina.
Participants will learn about resume writing, Schedule A eligibility and documentation requirements, where to and how to apply, career-fields in government, curriculum options, careers available at FRC East, special hiring authorities, and unique resources and assistance available in the local community.
Participating organization include the Autism Society of North Carolina, Disabled American Veterans, North Carolina DHHS, Wounded Warrior Battalion East, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Veterans Administration and MCAS Cherry Point Transition Services.
