A death in Swansboro Thursday has been ruled an ‘accidental drowning’, deputies said.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office was called on Thursday around 5:30 p.m. to assist with a drowning reported in Swansboro.
The victim, a 55-year-old white male, was recovered in the late afternoon in the Intracoastal Waterway near Highway 24 bridge.
A preliminary investigation reveals the drowning has been ruled accidental and that no foul play is suspected.
Detectives met with North Carolina Wildlife’s officers to talk about the investigation.
The investigation is still ongoing.
