UPDATE: Saturday, 9:16 A.M.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office released mugshots and additional information regarding the Friday shooting involving a Greenville Police Department detective and federal agent.

On October 16, The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office and Greenville Police Department stopped the vehicle after shots were fired.

Three adults and three juveniles were inside of the vehicle. Police also found a handgun inside of the vehicle. The three juveniles were sent to the juvenile justice system for charges.

The three adults have been arrested and charged with two counts each of Attempted First Degree Murder and two counts each of Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer with a Firearm. Each was booked into the Pitt County Detention Center under a $3,500,000 secured bond.

This is an ongoing investigation and there may be additional charges. Detectives are asking anyone that witnessed the events or believes that they have additional information about the incident to contact the sheriff’s office.

PREVIOUS: Friday, 5:50 P.M.

Suspects are in custody after shots fired at a detective of the Greenville Police Department and a federal agent during an investigation, officials said.

According to the GPD, on Friday shortly before 5:00 p.m., a GPD detective was conducting an investigation with a federal agent in the area of Airport Road and Old River Road when they were fired upon by individuals in a passing car.

The suspect vehicle was stopped minutes later in the area of North Greene Street and Old River Road.

All occupants of the vehicle have been arrested and a weapon has been recovered.

The officers were not injured.

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office will take the lead on the investigation as it occurred within their jurisdiction.

The connector from Greene Street to Memorial Drive just north from Belvior Road is closed.

A sheriff’s office spokesman says the public is not in any danger and that the scene is secure.
