CHOCOWINITY, N.C. (WNCT) – Since their 3-point loss to rival West Carteret in August, the East Carteret Mariners have been on a tear.
The Mariners (6-1) won their 5th straight game on Thursday, shutting out Southside 26-0 in Chocowinity.
Sloppy conditions resulted in sloppy play by both sides, but that didn’t stop the Mariners from jumping out to a 20-0 halftime lead.
East Carteret stays on the road, visiting Pamlico County next Friday.
Southside will look to bounce back against rival Northside on October 7.
