The Onslow County Sheriffs Office and the Pumpkin Center Volunteer Fire Department received grants from the Public Safety Foundation through Firehouse Subs.

Today a presentation was held at Firehouse Subs on Western Boulevard in Jacksonville.

The Pumpkin Center Volunteer Fire Department will put their funds towards two thermal imaging cameras.

While Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller said the department’s grant will go towards a smaller boat to help with water rescues.

“It allows my deputies, EMS, and firefighters, that we team up with, to get out into the areas that a larger boat could not access,” Sheriff Miller said.

Both grants total to more than $25,000.
