Raleigh-Durham International Airport says a flight made a safe emergency landing Wednesday night, but some of those on board requested medical assistance.
Frontier Airlines said the plane from Orlando to Philadelphia landed with 230 passengers and seven crew members. The flight had been diverted due to an unknown odor in the cabin, according to a statement from Frontier.
“Safety and security of our crew and guests is our number one priority,” the statement read.
Wake EMS said that eight people were evaluated at RDU and three were transported to WakeMed Briercreek for further evaluation. No one appeared to be in critical condition and were just generally not feeling well.
Frontier Airlines said that one flight attendant requested to go to the hospital.
A new plane was being sent from Orlando to take those on the flight to Philadelphia and was set to arrive around 10:30 p.m., per an airline spokesman.
Further details were not immediately available.
The landing happened around 7:45 p.m.
