During summers, thousands of families struggle to feed their children, and many can go without breakfast or lunch.
The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina is working to feed through with their annual stop summer hunger initiative.
The Food Bank kicked off their initiative Tuesday by honoring sponsors and local partners.
Food Bank partner pastor Brian Cornelius with Bryant Chapel Zion Church said the initiative will show people there is help and resources for them.
Food insecurity is an issue Cornelius is passionate and is working to fix.
