GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — A Goldsboro woman is facing multiple child sex charges in connection with an assault that authorities say occurred in 2016.
Jessica Lynn Uzzell, 26, is facing charges of first-degree statutory rape and first-degree statutory sexual offense, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
The reported sexual assault occurred in 2016 when the victim was 15 years old, authorities said.
The incident is said to have occurred at Uzzell’s home in Wayne County.
According to the sheriff’s office, “Information was recently received which was instrumental in assisting with the completion of this investigation.”
Authorities said the victim and Uzzell were known to each other.
Uzzell was arrested without incident. She is being held in Wayne County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond.
Uzzell was previously arrested and charged back in November 2017 in connection with a case involving stolen guns and drugs. In that case, Uzzell was charged with possession of stolen firearm, possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
