The Firetower Road rezoning project has been talked about in Greenville for some time now.
The project would rezone about 13 acres along Firetower, in the Bells Fork Area to make way for residential or office space and hopefully help with traffic problems.
A stretch of Firetower Road is set to be widened into 4 lanes this year or in 2020, and the nearby intersection with Kitrell Road and Charles Blvd will be reconfigured.
The issue was supposed to be talked about again Thursday at the Greenville city council meeting.
9 On Your Side learned the city council tabled the issue because the people in charge of the project are trying to work through some of the issues that people that live in the area have.
The issue will be brought before city council at their April meeting.
