Greenville police: Man hid crystal meth in bags of dog food, detergent

A High Point man was arrested on March 11 after Greenville Police said they found him with 11 pounds of crystal meth hidden inside bags of dog food and laundry detergent.

The Greenville Regional Drug Task Force announced the arrest of Brandon D. Wright, 31, in a news release Tuesday.

Wright was charged with trafficking methamphetamine. 

He was arrested after a traffic stop on Hooker Road near Arlington Boulevard as part of a month-long drug trafficking investigation.

Wright was sent to the Pitt County Detention Center and was given a 1.5 million bond.

Additional arrests are expected, the task force said.

The Greenville Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of Law Enforcement Officers from the Greenville Police Department, Winterville Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, The Drug Enforcement Administration, and East Carolina University Police Department.
