With the New Year comes new resolutions and many are hoping to start a new routine at a gym.
Finding a new gym can be tricky.
Fitness centers and clubs are all running deals and specials to get you in their doors.
According to the Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern North Carolina, millions of people won’t read the fine print before signing the dotted line.
The first step is to determine your fitness goals.
Take a tour of the facility and make sure it’s clean and somewhere you’re comfortable working out.
Be aware as some deals may be better than others.
“Ask for a free month or a free week, test some gyms out. You don’t have to go with the first one that you visit so you can make a good decision and have a gym that’s good for you,” said Alyssa Guterriez of the BBB.
Avoid signing anything on the spot, a yearlong membership isn’t something you sign right away.
Lastly, calculate your costs and make sure you can afford it.
If you feel it’s the place for you, read the terms and conditions and make sure you ask about cancellation policies.
