The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina hosted their 18th Annual Canine Crawl event Saturday in Town Common.

The event kicked off with the traditional canine walk around Uptown Greenville.

The walk circled back to the park giving everyone a chance to enjoy all of the local vendors, live music and food trucks serving up the best bone-appetit in town.

The attendees also got a chance to take part in contests like biggest dog and best costume.

“This is actually our biggest fundraiser of the year. All of the proceeds, so the money from the raffle, the money from the shirts, the money from registration, for the walk and all that stuff goes straight to the animals that we save, for medical, housing and everything they could possibly need,” said Shelby Jolly, assistant shelter director.

WNCT’s very own Maria Satira and Dontae Jones emceed the event, while WNCT’s Connor Kick officiated his very first dog wedding.

The event was a day full of fun and excitement for all of the dogs after a ruff-week.
