Body found in Harlowe identified as missing Havelock man


HARLOWE, N.C. (WNCT) A body found in Harlowe Creek on Thursday has been tentatively identified as Trakoven Norris.

The Craven County Sherriff’s Office said Norris was reported missing on February 3 ad his vehicle was located February 3 parked across from the Harlow Volunteer Fire Department located on Highway 101.

Norris’s cell phone and wallet were located in his vehicle.

The identification was made at an autopsy conducted by the medical examiner at Pitt Vidant Medical Center in Greenville on Monday, officials said.

Officials said the cause of death is pending the results of toxicology testing, however, no evidence of trauma was noted during the autopsy.

The investigation will continue and anyone with information should contact the Craven County Sheriff’s Office at 252-636-6620.
