Jacksonville woman awarded $25,000 scholarship from Chick-fil-A

A Jacksonville Chick-fil-A team member was surprised with a $25,000 scholarship to go toward her higher education dreams.

Corryn Barnes is part of the team who works at the Chick-fil-A in the Jacksonville Mall.

The Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy surprised Barnes on Tuesday with the scholarship.

According to a press release, Barnes has worked at Chick-fil-A since she was 15 and is currently a Team Lead.

She is also pursuing her degree in Political Science from NC State and has plans to use the scholarship to finish her degree and then get her masters.

Barnes’ dream job is to be a U.S. Ambassador.
