One of the largest jobs fairs in the region took place Wednesday.
James Sprunt Community College in Duplin County welcomed 75 employers to their fourth annual job fair.
Employers included those within the county and from nearby areas as well.
Due to the growing amount of employers, the event was held at the Duplin County Event Center for the first time.
9OYS spoke to one man who was hired around 30 minutes into the event by the House of Raeford Farms.
“My bills are going to be paid, and I can start owning a car, and I can move on in life,“ said Dallas Green, the man who was hired at the job fair.
Green said he had been preparing for the job fair since last week. He starts his new position on Monday.
Employers say this is not only beneficial for those seeking a job, but for them too.
“Actively going to the community colleges, job fairs all across the state, we attend military events looking for applicants in N.C. and out of state applicants,“ said Sgt. Andrew Pait, eastern state recruiter for N.C. State Highway Patrol.
About 325 people came to Wednesday’s job fair.
If you missed out, you can always attend next year. The college plans to keep expanding the event.
