James Sprunt Community College names new president

Dr. Jay Carraway will be starting his presidency next week at James Sprunt Community College in Duplin County, according to Interim President Dr. Kenneth Boham.

Boham said, “We wish him much success as he comes on board.”

Dr. Jay Caraway was the Vice President of Continuing Education at Lenoir Community College.

Carraway will succeed Dr. Lawrence Rouse is now the 5th president of the Pitt Community College after being sworn-in on Friday.

interim President Boham said, “As I leave James Sprunt, I know that this college will be in good hands. The future looks very bright for James Sprunt Community College, Duplin County, and Eastern North Carolina. The best is yet to come.”
