Keeping safety in mind at high school prom

Throughout the month of April, many high school students are off to prom.

Yet, members of law enforcement want them to remember to keep safety in mind.

Staff at Pitt County Sheriff’s Office said students should not be drinking and driving or using drugs.

They should also refuse to ride with someone who is.

“Have a good time, think before you do something if it is not what you normally do, make safety your first priority, don’t let it be your last prom or your last time out here,” said PCSO Captain Ray Waters.

For parents, reassure your child and their friends, that they can call you if they need you.

Also make sure your child’s car is in good working condition, full of gas and air in the tires.
