Lenoir County non-profit looking for storage space for storm supplies

A plea from the Lenoir County non-profit What’s the Need? for air-conditioned storage space.

The space would house and serve as a distribution center for Hurricane Florence donations and supplies.

What’s the Need? is an organization that provides community disaster assistance.

Right now, its executive director says donors are on standby until the organization can find a distribution center.

“When I get the supplies in the majority of the time, we have them go through a checklist,” said Cassandra Canady, Executive Director of What’s the Need?. “Tell me if you need food, water, hygiene kits, sheets and towels. Whatever you’re missing from your home and that’s what we supply them with.”

If you’re able to help, you can contact the organization by email at whatstheneed2017@gmail.com and on Facebook at What’s the Need?.

For parents on Medicaid, organizers are asking you to provide at least a Medicaid card to identify that the child in need lives in the home impacted.
