The East is growing with new revitalization happening in Greene County.
Local businessman Salvador Tinoco is attempting to breathe new life into Snow Hill by adding his own personal touch.
“I want to be a leader, and to lead others to join me,” said Tinoco.
Tinoco is a Lenoir County native. He moved to Greene County after graduating high school.
The day after walking across the stage, he opened his restaurant first restaurant La Flama.
“This started as having a vision to be a visionary, and to be a change and a positive change for the community we work and do business in,” said Tinoco.
That was in the early 2000s. Since, his vision has grown. So has his business sense.
“I think every day we work on it, it’s a day closer,” says Tinoco.
Tinoco, who owns his own construction company, is now building what he’s calling The Square.
Positioned around La Flama, Tinoco has his ice cream shop La Monarca.
A pizza and hamburger shop and an entertainment venue are now under construction.
“You can actually see the ending and the finished product of what we’ve envisioned,” said Tinoco.
The entertainment venue’s been under construction for the past three years. It’s anticipated to be complete by the end of this year at the earliest.
Tinoco is also renovating homes surrounding The Square as well as a barbershop and salon he intends on calling Bongos.
