Local leaders Monday were hoping to give people an inside look into the lives of Latino migrant workers.

They held a panel discussion based on a documentary created by PCC professor Scott Temple called ‘At a Strangers Table’.

UNC assistant professor of anthropology Dr. Angela Struesse and members of AMEXCAN were also in attendance.

Temple says it is important to open the table for this discussion because everybody east something that comes from a farm and these people are just hoping to make a better life for themselves.

He dives into the importance of migrant workers and their role within modern day agriculture.

“It important to realize that they have families they have lives and children that want to go to college and they are just like everyone else,” said Temple.
