Local school roots for speller in Scripps National Spelling Bee

The Oakwood School rooted on their student speller in the third round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Ozioma Obi is twelve years old and attends The Oakwood School.

Students and staff members say they are so proud of Ozi and his hard work.

The Oakwood community was rooting for him every step of the way.

His name was plastered all over campus and the National Spelling Bee was on the TVs.

Ozi is an inspiration for the other students to become a well-rounded student and person.

After today no more than 50 spellers will advance into Thursday’s Finals.

Unfortunately Obi did not make it, but here at WNCT, we are so proud of him!
