A Mount Olive man has been arrested after authorities said they found a stolen shotgun out of Charlotte during a traffic stop.

Joshua D. Quick, 23, of Mount Olive, was charged with possession of stolen firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer.

On Monday, the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team was patrolling the Seven Springs area in Wayne County.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for driving above the speed limit.

During the traffic stop authorities said the driver was found without his North Carolina driver’s license.

While they were trying to identify the driver, a K-9 open air sniff was conducted on the vehicle.

The K-9 open air sniff resulted with a positive indication for the presence of narcotics, authorities said.

Authorities said they found a stolen shotgun out of Charlotte and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The driver was identified as Quick.

Quick was sent to the Wayne County Detention Center under a $7,000 bond.
