A man has been released on bond after being arrested for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, deputies said.
Detectives from the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office opened a prescription drug investigation in March after a local pharmacy discovered a forged prescription for the medication Adderall.
According to deputies, Adderall is included in schedule II of the North Carolina Controlled Substances Act.
In researching, the pharmacy discovered other forgeries dating back to June 2016.
Detectives arrested Christopher L. Langley, 36, of Ayden, on Monday.
Langley was charged with two felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery.
He was released from the Pitt County Detention Center after posting a $10,000 bond.
