Man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop in Havelock

A man has been arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in Havelock on Monday.

The Havelock Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle operated by Alan K. Elam on Monday.

During the traffic stop, police said they found an amount of methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, digital scales, and packaging material.

Alan Elam was charged with:

  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin within 1000 feet of a school or childcare facility
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a school or childcare facility
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana within 1000 feet of a school or childcare facility
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Elam was given a $150,000 bond.
