NC East Alliance prepares to host the annual “State of the Region” event Thursday morning at the Greenville Convention Center.
The event will bring more than 400 people from 28 Eastern North Carolina counties together.
The group of leaders, educators and business owners will talk about the region’s educational, workplace and healthcare performance and how they relate to the overall economy.
Staff with NC East Alliance say they hope it sparks conversation and economic change.
“They may know what is going on in their community or their county, but they don’t understand the connection between what people are doing next-door or in several counties removed,” said John Chaffee, president, and CEO of the group.
Staff says the event has promoted positive change in year’s past — a growing educational collaboration between counties, infrastructure, and trade.
The event kicks off at 8:30 on Thursday. WNCT is one of the main sponsors for the event.
You do have to have a pre-purchased ticket to attend.
