Troopers are investigating an accident that left two people dead in Beaufort County on April 23.
According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on N.C. 33 East at 6:52 p.m.
A driver heading west ran off the road and overturned, ejecting the two people inside the vehicle, troopers said.
Troopers informed that one person died at the scene and the other passed away later.
The victims were identified as 22-year-old Austin McKay and 21-year-old Tyler Hartzell.
Mckay was the driver and Hartzell the passenger in the back seat.
The front passenger survived and troopers said was the only one wearing a seat belt.
Troopers believe a 2014 Dodge Challenger possibly came in contact with the vehicle that crashed.
The investigation is ongoing.
