New commander takes over at MCAS Cherry Point

In a Change of Command ceremony on Friday, Col. Mikel R. Huber became the new Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

Base officials said Col. Huber previously served as the assistant chief of staff for operations at the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.

The previous Commanding Officer of MCAS Cherry Point, Col. Todd W. Ferry, will transfer to serve as the deputy commander for Marine Corps Installations East-Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, according to base officials.
